  How to find us

The market town of Haddington is 20 miles East of Edinburgh along the A1 dual carriageway.  Travelling East take the second exit to Haddington - St Mary's is signposted from the main road.  Look to the South, and you will see the old church tower in the distance. Bullet gifmapBullet gif

St Mary's is host to many visitors each year - visitors who come to the church for many reasons.  A dedicated team of over 100 guardians ensures that those who visit over Easter weekend or between May and September receive a warm welcome.  Some of our guardians come from churches in Haddington and the surrounding towns and villages while others have no church connection at all.  They work two and a half hour shifts in teams of three, one to welcome, one in the shop and one in the tearoom.

New recruits are always welcome.  You do not need to know a lot of history about the church - rather we prefer people who are warm, welcoming and can respond to people as individuals.  To offer your services as a guardian please contact either Sandy Bell or Janet Chrystal.
