Young Church

Our aim is to help the children and young people learn about Jesus and the Bible in fun and interesting ways.

All are welcome – Please come along to our groups and events. We would love to meet you.

Meetings

Groups for different ages meet after the 09.30 family service (approximately 10.10 – 10.50 hrs) in the church building. The crèche facility is available at any time.

Groups

	Creche – A play facility/area with toys, next to the congregation. Parents supervise their own children, but can still be part of the service.
	2-5 years ‘Bubbles’
	5-8 years ‘Splash’
	8-12 years ‘Xstream’
	12 years+ No formal group held at present, but we would like to start one.

Resources used: Currently we use Scripture Union ‘Light’ materials which follow a theme for several weeks. Activities include stories, songs, drama, arts, crafts, games and discussion.

Events: Some of the events we have enjoyed in the last year are:

Christmas shoe box appeal
Picnic
Easter egg hunt
Movie and Smoothies
Pantomime visit
Fischy music concert
Daffodil picking for Mother’s Day

The Future

	Bibleworld Studios: An interactive Bible teaching resource is coming to Haddington for 1 week at the end of October 2007.
	Happy Days: Plans to develop links with these parent and toddler groups held in Newton Port Hall (church hall).
	Youth worker for Haddington: A churches together project which is currently working to bring a youth worker to Haddington.
	Youth Alpha: We would love to run a Youth Alpha course. Please let us know if you are interested.

Help needed: Please let us know if you would like to get involved, either to help on a regular basis, or occasionally with events.

New ideas/suggestions: These are always welcome.
